Colon hydrotherapy, also known as colonic irrigation or a "colonic," involves flushing the colon with water to remove waste.
The procedure is a process whereby the whole of the colon is cleansed, unlike with an enema that cleanses the lower bowels.With specialised equipment and purified water, impurities and toxins are flushed out. With a sluggish bowel, Colon Hydrotherapy can help restore normal peristaltic action in the bowel and over a period of time, fewer colonics would be needed.
The treatment usually takes around 30 - 40 minutes. Your first visit includes a consultation and will take about 90 minutes in total, for subsequent appointments you will be here for less than one hour. A colonic is not painful, although it can be a little uncomfortable at times.
The treatment involves the insertion of a small disposable speculum into the rectum, a little possible discomfort is over very quickly. Disposable, water and waste tubes are attached to the disposable speculum. The speculum is attached to the equipment which purifies the water, controls temperature, water flow, and pressure.
The Number of treatments needed varies from client to client, but with any degree of sluggishness or impaction, several colonics will be needed. To do a "detox" or a "tissue cleanse" several colonics will be needed fairly close together as there is a cumulative effect. Your therapist can assist and guide you through a detox or tissue cleanse.
